About Me

Jenny Raymond was born in the great state of Texas but is a heart and soul Cornhusker from Gothenburg, Nebraska. Her love of fabric was instilled at an early age as she played with scraps at her mother’s feet. Fashion design started with doll clothes and evolved into a 30 year career in dressmaking and design. She discovered her love for quilting during the nine years she owned a fabric store.

Jenny’s knowledge of clothing construction and her excitement for quilting are easily recognized in her workshops, lectures and trunk shows. Her strengths in quilting include color, piecing, design and a desire to be genuinely involved with those who take a workshop or attend a lecture. She published her first book, “Creative Techniques for Wearables,” in the fall of 1995 and designs her own line of wearable patterns under the Patchworki label.

Jenny has been invited to design for the prestigious Fairfield Fashion Show. Her 94-95 Ensemble, “Starlight Rhapsody,” was the Finale garment for the Diamond Symphony Fairfield Show. Her ensemble, “Joseph’s Jubilation, Splendeur of Galaxias,” was part of the 95-96 Diamond Couture Fairfield Fashion Show. “Arabesque,” was designed for the coveted 20th Anniversary Fairfield Show. Her ensembles have appeared in shows in Europe and Australia. Jenny was invited to design for the First Bernina Fashion Show (formerly Fairfield ). “From Nebraska with Love”, along with 50 other ensembles premiered at Quilt Festival in Houston, November 1, 2001.

Jenny is married to Bob, a self-employed CPA and has three children, Jeff, Mary Karol, and Sara. She has two dogs, three “granddogs” , and a backyard full of birds. Her other interests include her roses and flowers, church work, vocal and instrumental music, and supporting the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She enjoys “living the Good Life in Nebraska.”
